Maybe I just picked the worst possible time to build a pc, but it still sucks, and many are probably in my situation where they cant simply stick a new gfx card or a few extra sticks of ram in to make it modern enough. Sure I could buy a new card and it would be compatible, but it would be bottlenecked to hell if I did so. It wouldn't be capable of being upgraded unless i got a brand new motherboard and ram, cpu, basically I'd have to buy a brand new pc.Įventually when I made my own pc, very shortly afterwards, my top of the line pc became fairly non upgradeable to newer standards due to it only being ddr2 ram and only having pci express 2.0, whereas I believe the newer one is or was pci express 3.0. That pc was plenty powerful and fast enough to do the things I wanted it to do at the time (browse the internet, watch hd movies and tv, tinker with downloaded software, etc.).
